In founding the Septima Clark Public Charter School, we have accepted the commitment and duty to continue the legacy of Septima P. Clark’s work to ensure our students have a liberating education. Her name is not a fancy adornment on the school’s letterhead—we have incurred an obligation to uphold her life’s work by never allowing our standards to lower, by treating each young boy entrusted to us as we would our closest family members.
